While working at Neutrogena I had the opportunity to Art Direct as well as photograph several products. I also had a brief opportunity while working at Wonderful to photograph, art direct and retouch some fun POM Wonderful products for a social media posting.

Below is a small portion of my personal work. This is an untitled series I’ve been working on for a few years, influenced by artist like David Reed, Ed Ruscha and Walter Cotten who I studied under while an undergrad at SDSU. I started it as an exercise to create photographic paintings that were snippets or slices of the day to day mundane. Capturing the moments in between the chaos of our lives. Some images are meant to evoke a cinematic feel while others reference my desire to paint without a brush. Grad school greatly damaged my creativity. I felt stifled and insecure and could not paint or create any work for a few years. Slowly I began to reinvent myself not as an artist but as a designer. I enjoyed the design process, but missed the freedom and creativity in painting and fine art photography. This project is ongoing still a work in progress. I plan to write more later. Enjoy.
